Vestibular Physiotherapy

Physio 2

The Vestibular system is the sensory system in the inner ear that contributes to the sense of balance, spatial orientation and coordinates movement with balance. The vestibular system sends signals primarily to the neural structures that control eye movements, and to the muscles that keep us upright and in general control posture. People with vestibular disorders often experience problems with vertigo, dizziness, poor gait, visual disturbance, and/or imbalance. People may also experience nausea, reduced focus or concentrate, and fatigue. Physiotherapy aims at improving or correcting these problems. Evidence shows that Vestibular Physiotherapy can be very effective in improving symptoms related to many vestibular disorders.
